Were extras actually PRODUCED for the Blu ray?

Was this a case of extras being promised but not followed through (for whatever reason i.e. budget/rights to footage) or was this a case of extras being made but not included on the release... again for whatever reason. Does anyone know? Has Friedkin actually commented on this since he did promise a commentary/doco at one point?

I would love to know this myself.

Wait a minute... who am I here?

Add me to the list.

I heard there was suppose to be a WideScreen release with a Friedkin Commentary and a Docu, with included interviews.

BUT it seems none of this was included, for whatever "reasons".

Recently, I heard something about Friedkin warning fans to NOT buy the Blu-Ray Release, claiming there will be a new and improved release in WideScreen, with a commentary and docu.

Has anyone heard anything more about this?

You've got your lines crossed a tad.

Basically what happened is that the DVD that was initially released alongside the Blu Ray was a port of an old DVD with a highly inferior print. It was NOT the newly remastered version of the film that Friedkin had approved for the Blu ray/theatrical re-release. Friedkin went on Amazon and warned customers to not buy the DVD and that a new one will be released. HOW such a thing happened is not known and is almost as weird as these phantom extras that Friedkin hyped up when this Sorcerer restoration first got underway.

The Blu Ray however is fully endorsed by him and is evidently a glorious new remastered print..... but where are the extras Friedkin?

reply

Thanx for the info.

I thought that Friedkin stated his warning on IMDB, but you're right, it was on Amazon. Supposedly, the new release will be remastered and will include a commentary, but I'm still in the dark regarding the extras.

Also curious as to when.
