Now my shipment just needs to get here.

Wait a minute... who am I here?

reply

Mine too...Amazon shipped it yesterday, so I should get it tomorrow. The only bummer is that score of 1 for extras.

Well, I watched it -- in a word, it's incredible. Obviously heard a lot about the restoration, the recent screenings, how good it looked and sounded...the blu-ray does not disappoint.

And the film itself is as intense and gritty as I remembered. It's been about 7 or 8 years, and it was that crummy Universal dvd, that I vowed to never watch again.

One odd moment to mention: in the church scene in Jersey, one of the hoods clearly mouths 'F__k you and the horse...', but what's heard (and in the subtitles) is 'Up you...'. Since the movie was rated PG, it must have been that way in '77 -- but I can say I never caught that before.

Still, just a pleasure to finally see it like this.

The Blu-ray is beautiful. Highly recommend. As last we can see it in the proper aspect ratio.

So, the widescreen aspect ratio is restored, on the Blu-Ray?

Carpe Noctem!

reply

Yes, and it looks great too.
