Masterpiece - perhaps Friedkin's legacy.

This superb movie is not exactly a remake of Wages of Fear. The plot is similar but the two films (both excellent) are not the same. Movie lovers should not miss this one.

It is cinema legacy indeed.

It's just crazy flawed, but at the same time terrific and unique at that - it is flawed, weirdly artificial at times, but it does seem to be Friedkin's finest creation - a testament to pure human nightmare caught on celluloid.

Those trucks that literally have faces of ancient gods, dust, rain, dirt and fear and tension dripping from every frame - it's unlike anything out there save for Apocalypse Now (in the age of sound).

Magnificent cinema, glad that it will finally be released - and on blu-ray.

I don't see what you see but that in itself is the miracle of celluloid.

I was unaware of this film until yesterday, when a local radio talk show host did his weekly feature with a gentleman who talks about recent DVD releases. He said that it was an excellent film said that was released, in '77, the same week as Star Wars, and was eclipsed by that phenomenon.

Now, I'm anxious to see it.

I heard a critic rave about this film many years ago as an example of a remake that is distinctive from the original and has its own unique take but the film is rarely shown.

Its that man again!!
