Completely opposite sides

So I was strolling through Message Boards of the upcoming remake of Suspiria and I see mostly people saying "Do not remake this movie!" and etc...

But then, I came to this message boards and I only see people saying "How bad was this?" and "Why such high rating?" and etc...

I mean it's kind of funny! I totally get it that the true fans are worried, but then we only see people hating the original movie!

This is just me talking and to clarify some things: I watched the movie tonight for the first time; I really love horror movies and I understand that for some people the original it's pretty bad, because after watching so many movies that are recent, it's really hard to enjoy older ones, makes sense. But, in my opinion, I would really like to say if I did watch this movie at the right time (and not have seen previously hundreds of 90's horror movies and up), I would definitively found this movie way scarier and horrifying
than I found today.

I think the problem is how much good things people hear about it so it doesn't reach their expectations and are disappointed, that's why they call it overrated etc. It happens all the time, look at the boards for recent horror movies that got good reviews.

Another big factor that makes people dislike it (I might be wrong, just my opinion) is the story which is kind of weak and the dubbing.

I agree with you, but, for example, I knew that this movie had high rating and actually enjoyed it!

I do agree also that the story is weak compared to must of the recent stuff that is out there, but come on! This came out at 1977! The "imagination bar" wasn't that high back then... (i don't know if you understand that makes sense in my head, but I meant that there wasn't much stuff to compare and to make this "weak")

I don't know, even when the movie came out critics were complaining about the plot being the weakest part and there were lots of horror movies with better stories when Suspiria came out.
