Suspiria, Suspiria

Oh can you feel it, do you believe it?
It's such a magical mysteria
When you get that feelin', better start believin'

If you are saying that there is a hysteria over Suspiria then I agree. Over-hyped crap.

I'm glad you don't like it... the last thing these cult films need are "fanboys"...

stick to crap like "Dead Silence" and "Gothika"... those will probably be ones that interest you.

Yeah, those suck too. I'm sure you like Mother of Tears and Dracula 3D, stick to those as well.

I've never heard of "Dracula 3D"... and if you had bothered to read previous posts... you would have found the "Mother Of Tears" conversation, where I said that that film had a few good kill sequences but was utterly disappointing.

You see that's what 'fanboys' do... assume things and do little to no research

And before you think to argue with me... know this, someone who ranks "Inferno" a 3/10 but "Edge Of Tomorrow" a 8/10 will not get much respect on the "Suspiria" page.

What am I a fan boy of exactly? I'm sorry if I do not find you interesting enough to research. Delusions of grandeur for sure. I will defend Edge Of Tomorrow for being an entertaining and cleverly written sci-fi flick especially for a PG-13 blockbuster which are usually pretty lame and lack originality. But don't take my word for it, take um, well, everyone else's:

And yes, Inferno was incredibly dull and pales in comparison to Suspiria. I actually did research Argento and even he agrees that Inferno was crap. Evidently he was having some serious issues with his wife at the time and practically phoned it in. He was so off put because of it that he suspended completing the trilogy for 20 years. I assumed YOU were an Argento fan boy but I guess not since you never hear of his latest film.

Suspiria has some good qualities mainly being cinematography, mood setting, and good music. However the plot is muddled and doesn't flow very well and a lot of the dialogue is abysmal. Yes, yes I have heard of the argument that he only cared if it looked good and story is unimportant. Well to counter that I say that films are just a fancy way storytelling. Therefore you cannot have a good film is the storytelling is off. Suspiria fails in this aspect, therefore it fails as a film.

Argento was undoubtedly talented at one time but if you see any of his films in the last ten years you would not say it is the same man.

The rats are EATING ME!!!!!

Suspiria - 6 outta 10 stars

The special effects of "Inferno" were done by the "Godfather" of Italian horror... Mario Bava... who died the same year Inferno came out... so it has a lot of respect from fans of Italian horror films.

If by "special effects" you mean the gore effects that is another thing both films actually had done rather well. Italian horror was ahead when it came to gore. Another director with some good gore effects was Fulci but his plots and storyline made Argento's films look like The Godfather as far as writing was concerned. Italian horror does indeed have some redeeming qualities. I don't keep watching them for nothing. However, the writing leaves much to be desired and I think that is universally agreed upon.
