NOISEY HORROR

I'm not sure if it was Dario's intention to discomfort people with the music, but *beep* me if it isn't the LOUDEST PART OF THE WHOLE FILM! I mean, the colour maybe loud but Goblin's music IS LOUDER!

It's supposed to put you in a state of unease. I love the soundtrack, very effective.

Seriously the music is a huge problem for me. Don't get me wrong the score is good but in many scenes it needed some serious restraint. There are almost no quiet moments in the entire film, just the same score droning on and on. Its especially annoying combined with the sometimes sub-par voice dubbing, making the dialogue barely audible.

I mean there are many scenes that aren't as intense or scary as the soundtrack seems to think they are.

example:

Two characters talking to each other about something important. Meanwhile the ominous score is BLASTING over their dialogue.

Me (old man voice): What the hell are they saying?! Something about a witch?!

The soundtrack would have been way more effective if it only kicked in on scenes that are actually suspenseful or scary. And let the quiet moments actually be quiet, or have a little bit of suspenseful music playing on low volume.

I must agree that the music is too loud. When only dialog was present I found myself turning the volume up. A lot. Then when the music came on it blasted me out of my seat!

I have found this to be happening in a lot of movies these days. Explosions and music are very loud, then normal dialog is so faint I can't hear it.

Well adjust your sound settings, I had no problem.
