Did Gregory Peck live in England with Steve McQueen?

I am fascinated about the history of these two close friends. From my research I understand that they actually lived together for a while. Steve had a crab farm in England and I think that Greg joined him for a few months where they lived together and did stuff together.
However, I am not exactly sure where they lived - as Stevie didn't live on the farm. Some people actually say that Stevie is still alive. Not so sure about that. Anyway, I read in a Life magazine interview with Gregory that "McQueen and me, we're close pals. I bunked with him in his house for a while. He loved me making cheese. *beep* he was a smart guy"

Does anyone have any more details on this?
