Why two tigermen?

Why does the actor of Tigerman changes within the pilot? First it's Duke Butler, than H.B. Haggerty. Kane said, he wouldn't be killed, which would have explained a new bodyguard. So what happend?

Actually, it was Tigerman #2 who got his goodies nailed, then a bomb stuck in his belt for good measure. Strangely, H. B. Haggerty reprised his role as Tigerman in the episode "Ardala Returns."

No clue as to the difference between actors. Perhaps there are more than one Tigerman acting as a special group of protectors.

Pantherman, played by Tony Carroll, costarred in the two-part episode "Flight of the War Witch."

Maybe after Buck fired to the first tigerman on the movie he was supposed to be dead, but later on production the producers changed their mind but the actor wasnt available anymore.

the 1st tiger man is more memorable and looks far more menacing and frighrtening. the second one just looks like a beefy pirate

From what I can figure they are a race of men that are used as bodyguards and probably workers and slaves for the princess and her people.

Basically the first "bigger" Tiger Man didn't do his job and the Princess got rid of him. So he probably was killed, then they got the 2nd guy who became the main one.

A lot later in the series (Season 1 Episode 23) he's replaced by a huge guy called "Pantherman".

thinking about it - i watched this last night - last time we saw the 1st tigerman he was taken away by guards.the 2nd one may be his replacement but it doesnt really make sense as its not explained.

I think "Kane" saved the 1st "Tigerman", or at least his actions seemed so at the time.

If I've never seen it before, it's a new release to me!

It's covered in the trivia section. They needed to shoot a scene, but couldn't locate Butler, so they hired Haggerty. Haggerty was a veteran, apearing in movies likeWalking Tall and the Wrestler. He had also been a pro wrestler, best known for his time in the AWA, in tag-teams.
