This vs. Reboot

Any time you put this in a search engine, the reboot almost always comes up first. That doesn't make sense to me. The original/best should always be first.

I've never seen this, but I've always wanted to watch it. I can't find a source, other than discs going on Amazon for hundreds.

I noticed the same thing. The original seems to have been scrubbed.

You can generally find a copy of it on youtube (they take it down, then someone else puts it up).

Thanks. I'll try to keep a lookout for it. I imagine October before Halloween might be a good time to start checking.

Still, it's a little bizarre that the original can't be found via legitimate means anywhere. Not disc, not streaming. Weird.

Seems easy to find.

Thanks. The physical media are hit or miss. There's only one (used) at $18.87. I've never seen one at that price. The others are price prohibitive.

I'm surprised the youtube link is still up after a year. They typically are already taken down by the time the link is widely shared.

Thanks for this. I finally have the chance to watch!

No problem! In spite of the old-style effects I still think this is the best zombie movie of all time.

I watched this with the wife and oldest son. I can see why it's held in such high esteem.

I have to believe that if I had watched it when it was new (if I could have as an adult) then I would feel much the same way. Unfortunately, the movie style is dated and there are many tedious parts that I found myself wishing would just hurry along.

That being said, we followed up the next night with Return of the Living Dead and as much fun as that horror cheese fest was, it's clear that Dawn is the superior movie in almost every way.

Yes, "Return" was too much of a comedy to really take seriously. Have you seen the 1990 Tom Savini remake of "Night"? I would rank that second to Dawn in terms of quality. Much more polished as well.

The algorithms that control those search engines can be manipulated. A lot of studios/businesses hire experts who set up keys to insure their films/products are the first thing that shows up when someone initiates a search. Wouldn't be surprised if that's what happens here.
