Only Fools and Horses never really took off till about the 3rd series (infact the BBC were having 2nd thoughts about letting there be a 2nd series) yet Minder was a hit from the start, and I don't ever feel that OF&H caught up with Minder till it went into the Ray Daley years (in the late 80's its pretty fair to say they were both equal).

Minder wins every time, but only just!!!

Only Fools and Horses is better. Minder is great but Only Fools is in a different class.

Both fantastic shows.

So similar but with some subtle differances

Very similar programmes, but i prefer Minder for it's more serious approach. The thing i like about Minder is that it's both a suspensful drama whilst being a comedy whereas Only fools is a classic situation comedy. You can relate to both programmes, but minder has that realistic edge.

Both programmes are some of my favourite programmes ever.

Minder was and always will be the better. John Sullivan's Fools & Horses scripts have aged badly after all these years, and the closed studio set and pointless laughter restricted some of the better episodes (The Frog's Legacy didn't have an audience and remains one of the best ones). Where as Minder looked better, had far more characters and, due to the action and suspense, was more believable.

Plus Minder didn't outstay its' welcome.

"...and remember, The Queen Mother died listening to Osymyso."

Minder was much better.
