Was that really Harvey Keitel's voice?

It seems as though they dubbed another voice in for him. It didn't sound like him at all. Any comments??

It sure sounds like him. Listen to his voice in more recent films (Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, etc.) and it's him. It's probably dubbed, but BY himself.

His voice was dubbed over by Roy Dotrice.

That was not Harvey Keitels voice.
Also the worst movie ever made

Might be true that it was an awful movie, but I haven't seen it in AGES and I remember that as a kid I was completely mesmerized by HECTOR, the robot and the interiors of the base. Even some of the music still resonates in my mind. I'll admit that I have to see it again in order to give a more balanced opinion about it, but for starters, I've seen FAR worse GARBAGE than poor little SATURN 3. For instance, FEAR DOT COM was one of the WORST genre movies I'v seen in my life, despite having a good cast and some decent production avlues. There's this other movie which I can't recall the title, but stars Lance Heriksen chasing off big foot. That was even LAMER than FEAR DOT COM and looked decidedly like a direct-to-video affair.
All in all, as bad as SATURN 3 is (or might be) there are far worse flicks out there so just relax!

lol so true, but i like how this guy just sais its his voice. he has no knowledge, but he makes the claim that this is his voice, Imdb in a nutshell

It sounded exactly the same as the voice that says 'AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE' in the old He-Man cartoons.

Ahh He-Man, we hardly knew ye.

Director Stanley Donen had difficulty coaching Harvey Keitel on how he wanted him to speak so, he dubbed someone elses voice in. Keitel really hated everyone and everything from "Saturn 3".

Yeah, it was definitley Roy Dotrice voice, who I think is best remembered for his role as 'father' in the 80's series 'Beauty and the Beast' with Ron Pearlman.

By todays poor standards, Saturn 3 really isn't that bad at all. The late 70's, early 80's was a fantastic period for sci-fi films, so it was definitely poor when compared to other films of that period.

Yeh, under Roy Dotrice here:

Saturn 3 (1980) (voice) (uncredited) .... Benson.

Darn, and I thought it was Keitel's best acting performance, by his voice!

Yes Hector looked like an intellectual giant compared to that spinach eating twerp out of A.I.

you know what its a relief it wasnt his voice, because watching it i was so dissapointed that this was the same genius from Bad Lieutenant, but now finding out it wasnt even him (the dubber should be ashamed of his pathetic voice over) is a relief, Keitel is still great

Director Stanley Donen didn't like Harvey Keitel's New York accent, so he had Roy Dotrice reloop all of Keitel's lines with a more "Continental" accent instead.

They should have dubbed him in The Last Temptation of Christ, too. If any of the apostles were from Brooklyn I think the bible would have mentioned that.
