Does a dvd saying it's Region 2 mean it won't play here in the U.S.?

I live in New York. So will only Region 1 dvd's play here?

reply

Yup. You have to buy a region free player. Region free DVD players are very inexpensive. I own two of them. You get to see movies that are not available here in the states.

You don't have to buy a region free DVD player. All you just have to do, is to investigate if there is an easy way to make the player region free your self, which videohelp.com can assist you with.

Either they have codes that works with the remote that came with the player, or they have codes that can be programmed in to a universal remote and then use such a remote to make the DVD player region free.
Its not that hard, i did it within 5 minuttes with my player, by using a universal remote.

So its just investigating videohelp.com first, before you purchase a player.
