Could this film be made today?

If you think about the script, most of the film is timeless in terms of the humor, etc. Obviously it'd have to be tweaked a little bit, but yeah.

Anyway, could this script get made today and would it be popular and would it be well received by critics?

Critics didn't like it the first time.

They try making silly comedies still, will Ferrell movies, but they usually suck, they don't touch the Jerk.

Jack Mcbrayer...nuff said...except sorry if I spelled your name wrong.

Doubtful - the PC Police would jump all over it.

I don't know why. Navin's family were the only people with any sense at all. It's Whitey that can't be trusted. Finally, a movie that sends the message home!

Anchorman was that movie.

I don't know. Just watched "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" (a great comedy!) and I almost think isn't filled with enough sex, or booze (tho' they DID have that drink with the umbrella) or fart jokes, to catch on with today's "target audience". Sadly.

She deserves her revenge, and we deserve to die.

Maybe with a different title.

All I can think about is how maligned a white actor would be for saying "you are talking to a *beep* Heck...I might even be banned from IMDB just for quoting the line. It's total PC BS. But, it would never fly today.
