Billy's diet

He said he liked fried chicken, but all he ever ate was french toast.

You think he ever got sick of it and just wanted a McMuffin instead?

They did eat donuts from a box, though, with OJ. And ice cream and Salisbury steak. Did McMuffins even exist in 79?

True, not one bit of product placement for the Colonel. I did find that a little incongruous myself.

We didn't actually see him eat any fried chicken onscreen, but that doesn't mean that he didn't eat it. He could have eaten some but we just didn't see it.

Not sure if you're kidding or what. If you are, I guess the joke's on me, but hey i've seen people ask much weirder questions and be totally serious, so i'll bite. We saw, what, maybe 8 meals in the whole movie, over the course of about 18 months' worth of time. And most of those meals were breakfast. Fried chicken isn't a breakfast food.

Not sure why he brought it up though. Seemed like an odd thing to say in that situation. Just woke up, on the way to the bathroom, find a gorgeous woman completely naked in the hallway and... ask her whether she likes fried chicken. Though I guess if I was him, i'd be asking whatever questions I had to in order to keep her standing there as long as possible lol.

The reason Billy asks Phyllis if she likes fried chicken, is because he is an 7 year old, and that is the way their minds work! They think of the oddest things to ask, at the strangest times, and just blurt out whatever is in their little brains! I remember well the questions our son had at that age, humorous looking back, mortifying at the time!

who doesn't like fried chicken?

Exactly!
I always felt Billy was *testing* Phyllis. If she had said "No, I HATE it!"
Billy would have known there was trouble brewing!

Didn't he discover America?
