a scene hard for me to watch..

I love this movie... It is wonderful and sad... There is a scene in the movie where Dustin's character Ted is waiting at an office to see if he gets a job he really needs to have a better standing in his court case...He is sitting there all alone while everyone around him is a having a Christmas party, laughing and smiling.... It is such a heartbreaking scene for me because it happened to me for real... I was in high school and it was the last day of school before Christmas break and everyone was singing carols and laughing and I was just sitting there all alone because at home my Father was dying from cancer! .. It was awful...It still bothers me to watch this scene.. But I love the movie very much..

He waited for like five minutes and then was told he got the job. No big deal. Also, your father is no longer suffering. Cheer up. We all have pain in our lives.
Why be so blunt and rude? The OP made a heartfelt post about something personal to them. If you don't have anything nice to say, there's no need to say anything at all.

I agree. I love your posts by the way.

Holidays spike with suicides, especially Christmas. For people all alone or struggling it seems even worse surrounded by a crowd.

I don't know everything. Neither does anyone else

I'm so sorry!

I almost cried during that scene. I just felt for Ted so much. He looked so lonely and desperate. I agree with you- very difficult to watch. I'm so sorry for your loss- we lost both of my grandparents around Christmas in the last couple of years and it made the holidays very difficult. It is hard when everyone around you is so happy and you're so miserable.
