Mother in movies of this time
Seems like mothers got a bad rap around this time in the movies. I'm thinking of this movie, Close Encounters, and Ordinary People. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think these movies necessarily tried to show the mothers' POV enough to weight any sympathy for them.
