This first of three films that Mel Gibson has a wife killed Mad Max, Lethal Weapon and Braveheart and probably more.

Signs- wife killed squished against tree.
payback- wife accidentally/on purpose overdoses.
the patriot- wife dead before start of film.

Mel Gibson can't hold onto his wives in films lol

Wonder why it is?

Other than the wives part there is this immoral element where some of his films are accused of homophobia or being racist.

Well, he did marry Mary in Tim, and lived happily ever after, I hope lol.

Had many children killed or kidnapped though...just nuts how many too.

Max's wife isn't "murdered". She survives.

Actually she was near death, she may have died sometime later in hospital.

The doctors were planning how they would lie to him as Max stood leaning against the door like a zombie. Jessie had no chance of recovery from organ failure. This was likely due to blood loss and the low blood pressure it caused.

At the beginning of Road Warrior in the prologue you see Max walking away from two graves with crosses, implying he buried his wife and kid.
