Supposed to be speed, I think it was acid

What was up with Claude saying "it was supposed to be speed, I think it was acid"? Isn't speed usually sold in the form of a pill? Isn't acid sold on the streets as some kind of sticker or paper? If I bought speed from some bozo who gave me acid I would pummel that guy.

Tip was a narc and got whatever he deserved. Officer Doberman made it very obvious he was using a snitch when the first kid in a large group who he frisked was one of Tip's customers. Claude should have been suspicious of Tip as soon as he first got busted.

I only got one law. A kid who tells on another kid is a dead kid.

I remember getting acid in capsules in the early 80s, before the Tylenol murders in 82.

Thanks for the reply.

Shouldn't Claude have been furious for getting acid when he paid for speed?

reply

Acid is (usually) more expensive than speed. Not by much, but usually. Especially back in that time. You could get about 10 pills of speed for $5. But yha, if somebody had given me acid instead of speed I would have beat the hell out of them next time I saw them. That's a really terrible thing to do to somebody.

and yes, personally every time I've seen acid it has been in the form of a stamp, not a pill.

Tip gave drug dealers a bad name.

reply

I agree :-)

reply

Speed in pills, seriously? Never seen anything like that. Why would people damage their noses snorting if it was possible to take it as a pill?

reply

Because snorting it will give a quicker and more intense high.

reply

But speed is more about staying awake than getting a high. I did some research and apparently speed pills used to be quite common in the 70's.

reply

I'm aware of that. I was just answering your question.

reply

man....some things never change (kids) but finding acid these days is impossible. i think it should be the other way round....loads of acid today but nice kids!

reply

Years ago there was a hash shortage where I lived. I heard how great it was. But nobody had any or knew where to get it.

reply

I think the main reason there isn't much acid these days is because there's other drugs that are much more profitable. Acid is really cheap. Dealers have to sell tons of it to make money. They can make much more money on MDMA or meth.

Claude ruled. He looked like a young Tom Petty.

I've seen acid in gel-tabs before. It's not incredibly common. usually it is microdot, or blotter paper, because acid is usually in a liquid form, then soaked into the blotter paper.
gel tabs are a more secure way to package them, dose them, and sell them, but also make it very easy for punishment if caught with them, and the laws on acid are harsh
