Season 8-Favorite Episodes

I have been watching Magnum on Encore Classics since it came on a few years ago. I am still watching and they are about to finish off the final season, 8 again.

My favorite episodes are Legend of The Lost Art & The Pleasure Principle. Both episdes have plenty of humor in them. Legend is a great tribute to Raiders of the Lost Ark. I love the whole episode. It is done so well. The Pleasure Principle has Magnum acting like Higgins and Higgins acting like Magnum. They must have had fun with that one.

Can't stand Legend of the Lost Art... To each his own I guess. :)

Yes, I did enjoy the episodes mentioned above, I just lean towards the episodes with a little humor in them. I remember when Simon & Simon went really serious in Season 7 and it killed that show in the ratings. They tried to lighten up in Season 8 anfd it was too late. It did not help things that Downtown Brown had left after Season 6.

I'd like to see Simon and Simon come back on myself. I watched one episode where they episode like Rick was gonna have a Vietnam meltdown. Turns out his brother gets kidnapped , Rick puts on his old army uniform, camo makeup, with gun in hand he walks behind the kidnapper and knocks him out??? Very lame show and bad writing IMO.

Unfinished Business was one of the best of the entire series. A view into a Thomas Magnum that we only briefly saw at the end of Did You See The Sunrise. If you watch closely in the episode Magnum tosses away his POW/MIA bracelet that was a staple of Magnums accessories along with the team ring. A powerful image.......

Just finished revisiting this show on DVD.My favorite season 8 eps are Infiniti and Jelly donuts,Pleasure principle and Unfinished business.While not one of my favorites Legend of the lost art was a fun episode.Especially considering Selleck was originally offered the part of Indiana Jones.At least we got a small glimpse of what that would have been like.

I would say that the Pleasure Principle is actually my all around favorite episode of Magnum. I still need to get around to watching Legend of the Lost Art. I bought all the DVDs way back in 2012 and still haven't seen all the episodes. I have a tendency to bounce around the series a lot
