After the 'execution' of Proculus, one naked woman is seen smearing his blood on her vagina, while another is seen what seems to be urinating on the dead body of Proculus. Was it done to dishonor the dead because he was a 'reptile'? Or was it another one of those gratuitous inserts from Bob!

It was basically desecrating a body, but showing the extremes to which Caligula would go at that point - gutting a guy for more or less no reason, having his lackey girlfriends deface the corpse, and then feeding his penis to dogs. The whole point is, "this *beep* went crazy."

It wasn't until years later I was reading a story about this movie that said the two lackey girlfriends where actually Caligula's other two sisters.

He definitely included his sisters in his strange games and social life, but its not clear how much of this participation was voluntary; he was rumored to have killed Drusilla, who was his favorite. So the other two may have been terrified of him and desperate to avoid ticking him off.
So what the hell, showing the sisters participating in the desecration of the corpse of one of his victims is as historically accurate as anything in the movie!
