Keith Emerson was connected with an early attempt to film The Dogs of War that fell through. So he used some of the material he wrote for a tracks on the Works album, however Greg Lake felt uneasy about singing about soldiers of fortune so wrote lyrics about pirates instead. Having just heard the track myself I could (apart from Greg Lake's singing) see it used on the final film. Anyone else agree?

I purchased "Works" when it was released. I remember the song about Pirates. Great tid-bit of information. Emerson worked on a few soundtracks in the early 80's, most memorable to me was "Nighthawks"
