Richard (Dick) Cusack...in memoriam: 1925-2003

Dick Cusack's bit part in "My Bodyguard" as Cliffy's no-nonsense high-school principal was his first, and the beginning of a series of many other Chicago-related appearances (all small parts in major productions), by this long-time Chicago resident and patriarch of the Cusack acting clan (Joan, John, et al.).

Since then, he has regularly appeared in many other major Chicago-based films such as "The Fugitive" and "Chain Reaction." "My Bodyguard" is special, because it was his first performance in a major film, and the first where he played alongside one of his kids -- Joan -- who also made her acting debut at the age of 16 as Cliffy's friend.

Unfortunately, Dick passed away in June of 2003 in Chicago due to cancer. He will be sadly missed by all who remember him and his movies.
