What did Johnny Carson think of the use of the line "Here's Johnny" since that is the catchphrase that was used to introduce him on his television show?

One thing that was an interesting tidbit of trivia about the "Here's Johnny" line. I've read somewhere that Kubrick had been in England so long by the time production started on "Shining" that he didn't get the cultural reference to The Tonight Show. He probably thought it was some wacky improvised line from Jack Nicholson at first until somebody had to explain it for him.
