Whataburger??

In the beginning of the movie, Skip and Harry take a lunch break from their bank jobs. This is when the robbers take their outfits and frame them. Yes we're all familiar with this. However, I have a rather bizarre (OK stupid really) question, but when they are eating lunch, Skip has a Dunkin Donuts bag, and Harry has what appears to be a Whataburger bag. Side Note: OK so I'm from Corpus Christi, home of Whataburger (if you don't know this it is a burger chain spreading throughout the southwest). It wasn't in California back in 1980, so either the movie wasn't filmed there (doubtful) or either Whataburger copied someone else's logo or vice versa.

I know this is totally off the wall, and you pretty much need to have seen this small piece of the movie AND know the chain I'm talking about. Can anyone tell me if indeed Richard Pryor is eating a Whataburger hamburger? Thanks.

You know, my brother and I were discussing this very same thing the other day and we were trying to find out if it is indeed a Whataburger bag. Part of this movie was filmed in Arizona and indeed by the time this movie was made, Whataburger had already expanded to Arizona. Just check out their website which is very interesting. So I'm 99% sure it was a Whataburger bag. :-)

there was one in abilene tx and in minot nd. i like to call it "roadkill burger"

My money is on it being Whataburger, as well. A very old Whataburger logo (MAN, I'm old!); but, I remember that bag.

Remember, Skip and Harry are on their way to Hollywood from New York. They took the bank job for extra money while on the road.

I can't say whether it's supposed to be Whataburger "in the setting of the movie" as opposed to a "generic local fast food joint". But, it would make sense if they decided to come through Texas and New Mexico on their way to California.

Just paused the scene, it is 100% a Whataburger bag. No doubts about it.
