I just screencapped this movie, and does anyone else notice that Gene Wilder's eyes look pink and bloodshot in the closeups?

I wonder if anything was wrong?

Has anyone else noticed this?

it was Pryor's grass he was sneaking between takes. They just didn't figure out cuz they were engrossed in all the insanity.
