Erland Van Lidth De Jeude - beautiful version of the song too!

I have been looking for a copy of his version of Down In The Valley, for years, to no avail, The only way I have found is to lift it from the dvd, but then there is dialogue over it. Would love to find it without the dialogue.

Back in the 1980s, my father ran into him on a bus in Manhattan. He said he was a nice guy, but boy is he scary looking in person.

That was the mass murderer Grossberger, who turned out to be a gentle guy and helped Harry and Skip escape, even though he didn't go with them. The man's name is Erland Van Lidth de Jude and he was also the gang leader in Warriors. He died in 1987.

Actually, it wasn't his voice that was in the movie on the song "Down in the Valley". Even though he was an accomplished opera singer there were legal complications due to the SAG-AFTRA strike in 1980, so he wasn't able to record the song himself. They used the pre-recorded track to which he had lip synced the song for the final print of the movie.
