another thing I noticed

This is trivial but in David's room (prior and after the hospital) and his parents house after he gets back from the mental hospital, the phone is rotary dial and black. In Jade's house the parents phone is rotary dial and black, except for the wall phone. And in the mother's apartment in New York? Yes- Rotary dial black, as well as the phone in the mental hospital. Did the production use the same phone in all these places??? I don't recall rotary dial black phones as being that popular.

ALL phones used to be rotary dial, and all of them were black until they started making them in color in the mid-50s, for an extra price. Those huge rotary dials, though! From today's perspective, it took forever to dial a number. LOL.

Also, all phone numbers began, not with numbers, but letters of the alphabet which were an abbreviation of the telephone exchange you lived closest to. Think of it like the area covered by your zip code. You were supposed to memorize which numbers on the dial corresponded to your exchange, but when you spoke your phone number aloud, you always said the words. For instance, say you lived in the Whitehall exchange, your phone number might be WH1-1234, or "Whitehall 1-1234".

At least in my house, we had a combination of colors (depending on the room). I remember, white, taupe and black. I am sure they would re-purpose props.
