Jade and her brother

That scene where she was on the telly with David talking in french and the aashole brother got on to her more like a father with being allowed to smoke in the house, etc. James Spader always played a *beep* ass in most every movie I know of his.

reply

Because he plays them sooo well.

reply

Exactly. I loved his line in this movie when he tells Martin Hewitt's character that *beep* his sister doesn't make him part of the family. That is classic Spader!

reply

He was wonderful and lovely in White Palace, Stargate and Sex,Lies and Videotape...

reply

Yes. Yes he was. Consummate actor.

reply

Spaded always played the snob.

Spoiler alert for them spoil sports out there! Y'all like spoiled milk, stop crying over it!

reply

The way he acted, I thought he had the hots for his sister and was jealous.

I will need to reread the novel (and I plan to), but I read somewhere that in the novel Keith (the brother) would befriend classmates and introduce them to his family only to dump them later, and he basically did that to David. I really wish this movie kept that aspect of his character, it would’ve shown even more how someone as mentally unstable as David cannot see through bad people like them.
