What are the differences in the remake?

I never saw the remake but apparently it is a lot different than the 1981 original. Can anyone tell me the differences?

Not very different. In fact, the character's names are pretty much the same, in both versions the douche character ends up being the hero while the seemingly good guy ends up being the psycho killer.

The original is a classic, the remake sucked.

The identity of the true killer is different. The roles are basically reversed in the remake.
