Questions Regarding Rosemary's Father, Major Chatham

Throughout the movie, we only got a couple of small glimpses at Major Chatham. And there are some questions unanswered.

1.When he grabbed and attacked Pam out in front of the dorm while she was running away from The Prowler, why did he grab her and attack her? I assume it was just his frustration due to the dance being hosted after all those years.

2. How was he able to get out of his house in front of the dorms in a wheelchair? It would be very tough to do since he had a stroke.

3.And what happened to Major Chatham throughout the movie? It was like he never existed. Was he killed off screen? Apparently there was no body or report of him being dead.

4. OR, this may sound extremely crazy, were Major Chatham and The Prowler sort of working together during the murders due to the hatred of having a dance reunion? And it's apparent The Prowler was very unhappy about it too since it brought back memories of the murder and the heartbreak from Rosemary.
