Greatest Kill / Terrible Plotting

We all know the kill I'm talking about. No slasher ever went as far as that bayonet in the skull. Savini outdid himself in this movie.

But the story itself has major plot problems. Why do they go to the old house twice? Why do the kills slow down in the middle of the movie? Zito and whoever else wrote the script needed to spend more time on it. Frankly, a waste of GREAT special fx on a very poorly plotted story.

Eh I can't argue against that really but as I age I lean more in favor of atmosphere and kills over plot (with regards to slashers anyway).

This movie has some of the best kills in the sub-genres history, a good atmosphere, a few funny moments (the fat dude cracks me up) and the ladies are nice enough (the one that gets it in the swimming pool was a babe).

All in all a superb slasher flick, if not a superb movie in general. Great to watch whilst drunk.
