did indy fly in with that guy jock
or was he just his ride home? if he did fly in with him wouldn't he know that he had a pet snake named reggie?
shareor was he just his ride home? if he did fly in with him wouldn't he know that he had a pet snake named reggie?
shareThat’s actually an interesting question especially considering there wasn’t room in the plane for the two guys who betrayed him
shareI don't think we're meant to think too deeply about it. He needed a rescue out of the scene and a plane is more exciting than a car. Also, the scene amusingly tells us of his long-standing fear of snakes.
shareI'd say yes cause of the guy Juak fishing. I feel like him fishing there implies he had been a there a long time. And what better way to pass the time in a place like that than to go fishing? I also feel that he wouldn't be fishing if he had just gotten there.
shareMy theory:
Indy flew in with Jock to the village closest to the temple. Once there, he hired some locals to help him get through the jungle and into the temple. His crew and him walked thru the jungle, while Jock waited on the river. His plan would be to get the statue and rather than walk back to the village, he would meet with Jock and immediately fly out of there with statue in hand. His crew would walk back to the village, fully paid for their service. The reasons for this would be it's less of risk to get out there as quickly as possible, rather than have one of his crew kill him and take the statue, or someone waiting back at the village, or running into the natives.
As far was Reggie goes, maybe Jock kept him in the cargo hold on the flight in, and brought him out while Indy was in the jungle. He wasn't expecting Indy to be back as soon as he was, so he didn't have a chance to put Reggie back. Or maybe Reggie just slept under the seat the whole way in, so Indy never knew about him.
That sounds like a very likely scenario.
shareThats nonsense and a big credit to the OP for finding a plot hole here
shareDo you realize that this movie and characters are a work of fiction? Nothing was ever film, discussed or even suggested about what you are talking about
shareVery plausible reasoning there.
Just his ride out.
Probably met him a few days before, and secretly hired him to help him steal the idol away from everyone else.
He knew since before he enters the first shot that he could not trust his crew. So he had prepared this easy escape route once the idol would have been secured.
This is the only plausible explanation.
shareNow thats silly considering this a work of fiction and nothing was filmed or suggested otherwise
Jock caught the snake while fishing and threw it in the plane as a joke/souvenir. He was only kidding when he called it his pet. It was sarcasm.
