Hey all if The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas was to be remade there is only one person IMO who could play Mona Stangley would be Queen Latifah.
I know this is a classic and I love it but while watching it it just poped into my head.
What do you guy think.

That would be interesting, given the racial themes in the film. A black miss Mona. Thought of makes the character of Jewel oblite. Could work. Interesting twist
shareIf they were to remake this I could see Queen Latifah as Jewel, Catherine Zeta Jones as Mona(maybe), Richard Gere as Sheriff Ed Earl(maybe). I don't know who I would want to see, but I think they should omit alot of the songs that Dolly had in the movie and put back the songs that were cut from the show especially the Sheriff's only song, Good Old Girl.

It is hard to imagine anyone taking the place of Dolly Parton. Those are big cups to fill. Queen Latifah can sing and act. Can Jennifer Love Hewitt sing? Can Jewel act?
Britney Spears is a huge fan of the movie. I wonder if she is interested in starring in a remake.
