Kinski's lack of acting ability

For once Kinski's inability to act didn't wreck the film. She staggered a bit when she didn't know where the camera was and couldn't keep her hands off her face, but she didn't have a lot of lines to flub. I guess the best way to hide that you can't act is to take off all your clothes!

I can't agree that her acting is bad here, she is almost always the bright spot of any film she's in. Though I enjoyed the movie as a whole, she actually had a decent script, other good actors, and a good story and effects as well. The transformation of meek little girl to full on predator by the end is amazing, and it's all her acting there. Obviously if you don't like her, you don't like her. But she acts better than 90% of the actors out there.

I enjoy her acting and with her incredible facial looks/expressions, I was surprised that she didn't go bigger ~

It's probably a case of her just being too gorgeous for most people to take seriously. Women hate her for that, men just want her. And although I am ridiculously attracted to her, if she came across like an air brain or was terrible at her craft, no amount of beauty would make me think she acted well if she didn't.

'It's probably a case of her just being too gorgeous for most people to take seriously.'
---------------------------------
That's a dubious reason, since many beautiful women do make it big and receive recognition. I never considered her too gorgeous, nor Isabella Rossellini. They were a certain type that you either loved or felt indifferent towards

I am not saying that Isabella Rossellini isn't beautiful, but she is not exactly my type, though she does look pretty amazing in Blue Velvet. But Kinski is a rare breed of woman, and few women in the whole world look as amazing as she does, especially in some of her early movies. Plus I think she is a pretty good actress, she was never typecast and took on different types of roles, and was good to great in many of them.

I'm not too familiar with her acting, but don't doubt she was very good. Maybe she just wasn't bankable.

The worst I can say for Kinski here, is that she let her accent slip at times. She also looked great, although kind of boyish and her presence in the film held my attention which is good, considering the flaws in the story. The films merits, outweigh it's cons.

I think she was rightfully the focus and central character of the film and was really well cast. I can't imagine any one else improving on her performance.🐭

I thought her performance was fantastic.

Kinski was great in this.
