Oddly enough, Ken Ogata actually DID die 25 years later
During the film, Ken Ogata's character made the comment to the effect that 25 years from now, his son would carry him to the top of the mountain (i.e., to die). Well, in real life, Ken Ogata actually did die 25 years later, in 2008. Strange coincidence??
