Zack calling Foley a Mofo

Would that normally get him DOR'd? I realize Foley gave Zack the benefit of the doubt that he was upset at Sid leaving, so I'm not asking that.

Foley played by his own rules. He could have kicked him out for the buckles he was selling, but chose just to dicipline him instead. If a higher ranking officer had seen the verbal exchange, Mayo would have been in trouble, and if a higher ranking officer saw their brutal brawl they both would have been in serious trouble.

Agree: Foley was interested in building character by making things tough for the cadets. If they wanted to hang in the program, they'd need to change. By forcing them to DOR, at least he made it their decision. Who knows, if Foley kicked out cadets he might have kicked out an Omar Bradley.

Is very bad to steal Jobu's rum. Is very bad.

If you recall the entire movie, Zak/Mayo did several things prior that would/should get you kicked out of Candidacy School?

Based on the stress of finding his friends dead body, him calling out his Instructor afterwards was probably the least of his infractions?

But it was a GREAT Scene, both of them.

One of my favorite movies, performance of the actors wise. I believe Gere should've gotten Oscar nod or won for it.

This was back before they overdid profanity in movies. So that was a big moment.
