At the dance, Worley says, "George Jones, where are you when we need you most?" What is he referring to???

He was a singer, I think he was meaning he needs the right mood music to hit on the girls.

Sid Worley was from Oklahoma...I think his comment was a reference to how awful the band was, and how much he wanted to hear some good ol' country music. George Jones, who passed away in 2013, was generally regarded as the greatest country singer of his time--and he was from Oklahoma too.

Incidentally, actor David Keith, who played Sid Worley, was trying to develop a biopic about George Jones back in 2005.

Jones was from Saratoga Tx….but other than that, you’re right.
