If they re-made Porky's today...

If they re-made Porky's today, it would take place in 1990. God, that makes me feel old.

And most of the stuff in the movie would be taken out.

reply

And there’d be lots and lots of diversity, including transgender stuff that would be seriously confusing and about as arousing as a man having carnal knowledge of a meatgrinder, and Porky would be an Uber-butch Lesbian, and it would be PG-13, and Jayden Smith would be in it, playing a woman and . . . no, it just wouldn’t work. We don’t always progress as time moves on, do we?

reply

The boys peeping into the women's change rooms would be found out and shamed. The girls would all rush to social media and post about it, ok it might have been set in the 90's but it would still have current social trends as with anything made now.

Yep, like you said it just wouldn't work anymore, not that the original was a great film but it wasn't trying to be anything special either.

It was trying to be a fun, crude paen to raging adolescent hormones, as were all the other teen sex comedies (American Pie, Wet Hot American Summer, etc.) of the time. We have apparently now decided to ban natural sexual development in favor of a miasma of emotionally-repressive malarkey that wants to snip off our genitalia, our gender and ethnic identities, and replace them with an insane social/political agenda that wants to deny what people really are. We want to procreate. We want to live in peace, but we want to be with our own kind. As Robert Frost wrote, “Good fences make good neighbors.” I think that we need less in the way of diversity and inclusiveness, and a lot more in the way of peaceful fences, that allow those on both sides of the fence to enjoy themselves and remove and toss off their rectal stcks.

reply

I agree. I like my neighbours just fine, but they can stay on their side of the fence. We have created so many problems by pretending we can all live together happily.

reply

You know what?, and I think that you do, we can’t. We can respect diversity and understand the need to accept it as a principle that makes for peace between us all, but we all want to be with our own kind, regardless of how we define our own kind. I, personally, defefine it culturally, intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, sexually and physically, though not necessarily in that order.

reply

We do all want to be with our own kind. It always amuses me when you see the "oppressed minorities" start trying to exclude the majority once they start getting some power. They seem to forget it was the majority that fought for their rights in the first place.

reply

To be fair, the boys shouldn't have been peeping. That kind of thing can get you rightfully arrested.
