Why Change The Classic Cover?

I own the "Porky's Trilogy" boxed set. It's nice to have them all in a box, but why oh why did they change the amazing original cover? As a young boy, that cover provided such wonder to me, I would stare at it constantly and imagine what amazing things must be contained in this film. My folks had the film on VHS but did not want us to watch it so they kept it wrapped up in plastic so that if we opened it, they would know (they got it as a gift). I would just stare at that cover, with that naked lady and the eyeball looking at her, and I'd think "This movie must be amazing." Now it's just some stupid condom wrapper, LAME! Why do DVD companies think they need to change covers that were perfectly fine in the first place?

So Long Old Friend, I wish that I could see you once again.

To be honest I only read your first sentence to want to answer this just because I also bought the box set and currently watching the commentary with Clark. He mentions how he initially wanted one of the supporting ladies to be on the cover holding a couple of male parts but censors would not allow for such. He even mentioned how he was shocked he got away with showing them in the movie with such a worry behind it.

So really find it interesting that he did not go for that during this time rather allowing them to just throw out some crazy covers. I even relooked at my cover to realize it was not the original and was like 'WTF!!!'
