What if the Shape-Shifting Alien was at the Base in the 1951 Movie ?

I wonder how things would have happened if the shape-shifting alien from the 1982 John Carpenter movie had actually been at the Base in the original 1951 movie. What does everyone else here think ?

If you're asking if the thing behaved like a shape shifting imiation like the book, I wondered that myself. I watched the 1982 version first and then 1951. I was expecting to see a less gross looking thing in 1951 but instead saw a Frankenstein monster instead (nothing wrong with that. Still a good film).

But I would imagine the following would happen if Carpenter's film was made in the 50s:

-If the thing imitates someone, they would simply touch someone and there would be a fade out special effect for the assimilation process in a freeze frame style instead of the guts spilling out. It would start with a human (imitation), then he/she fades into an alien person, then that person touches someone else, then they freeze frame, turn into an alien person, then fade back into human.
-The last "thing" we see will be the original form very briefly before disintegrating/burning/being killed.
-If they do the blood test scene, it would be a syringe instead of slicing your thumb open with a scalpel.
