Tootsie or Mrs. Doubtfire?

I don't know if this has been asked before, but which do you prefer? I know both are different stories, but they have the same concept. I grew up with Mrs. Doubtfire but I just saw Tootsie for the first time tonight and I thought it was great. I can see where Tootsie deeply influenced Doubtfire, especially with the scene where Dorothy beats the guy with the shopping bags for taking her cab. :)

Tootsie, no contest!

gotta give tootsie credit for being earlier and therefore more original. mrs. doubtfire was better executed as a comedy though.

i never understood the appeal of these films. neither characters would even remotely have been mistaken for actual women.

They are not really in the same league. Tootsie.

Doubtfire hands down

To each their own.

But Tootsie far and away is the better film.

Even though Robin Williams more than holds up his end in Doubtfire the film as a whole falters, the writing overall just isn't very good.

It's not even close. Not even remotely close . . . . Tootsie.
