Why the deep hatred between Cochrane and Murphy?
Alright, Murphy once said that the 'bastard court-marshalled me.' I don't know how often people in the armed forces get court-marshalled, but were there other reasons?

Sometimes, people can rub you the wrong way. It was clear in the beginning that they did not like each other. No real reason to go any deeper.
shareno reason? murphy hated cochrane not just because he court-martialed him, but because cochrane was sadistic, ruthless murderer, who he threw guys out from helicopters and murphy witnessed this and got PTST for life! what other reason does he need to hate him? everything was in the movie.
Well said, mate!!

Despite the fact that they played characters that were enemies in Blue Thunder, both Roy Scheider and Malcolm McDowell became very good friends while working on the John Badham film. As McDowell would state at various science fiction conventions, they enjoyed working together so much that they couldn't leave each other alone.
When Scheider passed away, a very saddened McDowell was unable to attend Scheider's funeral due to a film project that he was working on and could not leave at the time, much to his dismay. As a result, he immediately ordered some flowers and sent a letter of condolence to Scheider's family.
That cool that Roy Scheider and Malcolm McDowell got along so famously (hard to tell by their dislike as characters), but it's too bad McDowell couldn't attend Scheider's funeral, though he still did a stand up thing.

Spacey must have threatened to molest him.
shareIt was all detailed in the flashbacks.🐭
