So, in the end, what will Murphy do now?
Go back to work? Go home? Go elsewhere? Retire?
shareMurphy testifies in court, then quits the force.
He ends up as a flight instructor in Arizona...
That's nice :). Thankfully they didn't make a sequel but I wouldn't be surprised if there would be a remake!
That works for me. Murphy also marries Kate because, hey, she goes on a high-stakes, deadly mission that involves her rooting through trash dumpsters, eluding police officers and nefarious/fake news producers. What a gal! I'm thinking his first stop after scuttling Blue Thunder was to the news station, since it seems more secure than the LAPD.
Objection, your Honor. You can't preface your second point with first of all.
Murphy spends the rest of his life in jail, most likely.
shareI was writing a fan fiction story sequel about 15+ years ago and I came up with the idea that he had a lengthy court case and examination by authorities, and was deemed unfit to fly. Braddock had a heart attack from stress soon after the events of the film and eventually Murphy fixed himself up, applied for the job and took over as Captain of ASTRO Division in later years. He was at first not the primary protagonist in the sequel, like Braddock, but then is forced to take command of a helicopter once again and becomes more prominent.
shareBraddock had a heart attack from stress soon after the events of the filmThat's ironic because the actor who played him really did have a heart attack before the picture was completed.
