What happened to the Blue Thunder helicopters?

I understand that one of them was dismantled and sold for parts, but what about the other one? I haven't found any information on it.

Also, the pictures of the cabin on the MGM studios tour is not the actual helicopter, it is just the cockpit mockup used to film the actors flying the helicopter.

If you think about it, what helicopter operator in their right mind would want to purchase an old helicopter that was cut up and modified? It's a little unsafe, probably only had temporary / restricted flying approval from the FAA and the Gazelle in its base form isn't exactly the cheapest and easiest aircraft to support and maintain. So it probably got stripped for parts and sold to other operators and then the rest cut up for scrap metal. Who knows!

A portion of one of the choppers is on display at Disney MGM Studios in Florida. It is part of the backlot tour. It is in the section of the tour called the 'boneyard'. It is not complete, only the cabin section is there. There are not rotors and the tail is missing. It was in poor shape from what I can remember.

I believe they were used in the TV miniseries Amerika. They were used as futuristic Soviet helicopters. After that, no clue. If you go to Youtube and type in Blue Thunder and Amerika, theres some cool footage of the choppers in them.

That is a shame that they did not keep it intact for show use. I know that I would have done that if I had the money to preserve the helicopter.
