I just learnt this very sad news. :(

You were great, Roy. Rest in piece and thank you for a ton of wonderful performances.

Tailwinds my friend.

"Blue Thunder" was a great movie and Roy's role in it was extremely well done--probably the finest characterization of a pilot in any film. I cannot think of anyone who did it better.

You will be missed.

Blue Thunder was great. Roy Scheider was greater! Any film I've seen him in was always elevated by his performance, he was/is one of my all time favorite actors and he will be sorely missed by me. My thoughts and condolences to out to his family. he was a Top Man for sure.
