Antenna on the school roof

K,how in the unholy hell could you get someone to go on a rooftop, HOURS after a complete nuclear holocaust with Russia and their filthy nukes. It's SNOWING radiation like cotton balls and this stump of a person is installing an antenna, face to the radioactive wind, along with dear old caution. I mean if he/she was that stupid to do it, could one really trust them to complete the task? You couldn't pay 99.99% of any self preserving individual to do that for any amount because of the not so slow death that would inevitably follow. Maybe the person who did it was on dust (no pun intended). It was a college after all..

Someone did say that she should forget that stuff and get down there. So it was alluded to.

Back in the day there was a thing called "self sacrifice." Some people would actually put themselves in harm's way if they thought it might help others. That student was smart enough to know that communication with the outside world might be more important in the grand scheme of things than her (already questionable at best) safety.

The only thing I can think of is the student in question had already been out in the open and knew they already had next to no chance of surviving so did that to ensure the others who did get to shelter in time would carry on
