Is it just me, or is McKittrick a complete *#&@%?

By the end of the movie he has quite literally invented the worst invention in the history of humanity: a machine that can wipe us out whenever it wants, with barely any way to stop it. As Falken pointed out, "[David] can hardly do worse than you have, John."

You'd think he might have displayed a bit of contrition and willingness to listen to others. What an egotistical jerk.

It's not just you. How could it be just you? Are you thinking you might be insane?

I think McKittrick is indeed an asterisk, an octothorpe, an et-sign, an at-sign, a percentage sign and a question mark. Very well put, he definitely has qualities of all of those characters.

Has that actor ever played any character that isn't an egotistical jerk, by the way? I haven't seen him in that many movies, but it seems that every time I do, he has that same 'I want to PUNCH that ásshole somewhere in the face area' reaction from me, due to his 'egotistical jerk' role.

"Modern Problems" comes to mind, for example.

In which movie do you think he is MORE of an egotistical jerk, just out of curiosity? I can't even decide.

Huh! Did you ever see him in the short-lived T.V. series "Buffalo Bill" where he played an egotistical weather man in Buffalo? He was really a jerk in that one! You have to admit, he's good at it.

He also played a jerk in the movie "9 to 5."

He pretty much specialized in playing jerks. Buffalo Bill.
And exception - he was somewhat tolerable but a bore in "on Golden Pond".

He had no idea Falken put Joshua into WOPR. WOPR on it's own might have worked, with plenty of failsafes installed.
