Voice of WOPR

I always thought that the voice of the WOPR is that of Jon Wood (Prof Falken). It sounds alot like him only electronic. But I don't see it mentioned here on IMDB or in the movie's credits. Can anyone confirm this?

It would also make sense seeing how Falken helped create the WOPR & named it after his son, Joshua.

WOPR didn't have a voice.

Joshua had a voice.

WOPR is the technical system, Joshua is the A.I. program.

The way they did Joshua's voice, was to record the words backwards, and then reverse the sound samples. I think they recorded individual words, to make it more robotic, and later added a vocoder of some kind.

And it was indeed the actor, who plays Falken in the movie, who did the voice recording for JOSHUA's voice (not WOPR's).

WOPR's sounds were the external hums and bleeps you hear whenever the computer/system/apparatus/technical marvel of its time is shown from the outside perspective.

Ok cool. Yeah, I actually understood that Joshua was the AI of WOPR but thanks for the info on how they made the sounds. Interesting stuff.

The doctors say he has a 50-50 chance of surviving. But there's only a 10% chance of that.
