Mistake in the Trivia Section

IMDb is really full of these FAQ and Trivia mistakes.. without an easy way to correct them. So they stay.

They explain in the trivia section, that a "1200 baud modem" was used in making this movie.

Well, we all should by now know, that's wrong. It's not a "1200 baud modem", it's "1200 bps modem".

http://electronicdesign.com/communications/what-s-difference-between-bit-rate-and-baud-rate

"..if the symbol rate is 4800 baud and each symbol represents two bits, that translates into an overall bit rate of 9600 bits/s. "

With 300 bps modems, 'baud' and 'bps' were pretty much equal, so it wasn't necessarily wrong to say "300 baud modem".

But anything higher than that, and you risk being erroneous or completely wrong, if you use the word 'baud' instead of the acronym 'bps'.

BAUD DOES NOT EQUAL BPS!

I don't think this mistake will ever be fixed, because this world seems to LOVE to just revel and swim in errors, like it's a lovely pool that no one ever wants to get out of.
