The original music in this episode

I know the music was replaced on the official DVD releases, but I have a tv recording of the "Trick or Treat" episode with the original music. At the 9:20 minute mark there is a brief music piece that I've heard in Creepshow as well as an old episode of "That's Incredible" based on the Amityville story.

I can't seem to locate proper information for who did the music piece. I thought it may be Ib Glindemann, but I can't find the actual isolated music track to know for sure. Any help?

The piece you're specifically looking for is called "Sonar Waves," and it's from the Capitol Music Library, specifically from a single album, D 107-108 Ocean / Ghosts, composed by William Loose. In fact, most of the music from that episode is from the same album.

Track List:
1. Deep Sea Test
2. Tide Research
3. Marine Life
4. Undersea World
5. Sonar Waves
6. Oceanography
7. Ghostville
8. Time And Space
9. Haunted Mansion
10. The Supernatural

Cues from this album were turning up all over the place in the early 1980s, from the film Creepshow (1982), to the television series In Search of... (1976), even cinema intermission bumpers (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqvvN598kYY).

The album has been released to Youtube in its entirety:

YES!! THANK YOU SO MUCH! This is what I've been searching for!

It's been the rarest of the rare for many years. I only persuaded a Youtube user to upload the entire album a couple of days ago (or rather, I'd requested it 6 months ago, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBQLuQWWuuU - and he'd been working on it since). I think he did a brilliant job.

With it being used in so many films, do you know if that particular track Sonar Waves is copyrighted? I assumed it was considering it was replaced in the Tales From The Darkside episode. I'd really like to use it in my next film.

Yes, I'm sure it is. You can license it for use, though (I've no idea how much it would cost - if you find out, let me know; I'm curious) from Ole Georg:

Decades ago, when I was looking for the library cues used in Creepshow (1982), I corresponded with John Harrison, and he referred me to Ole Georg. He wrote me that he thought the piece I was looking for was called "Deep Sea Test" (actually it turned out to have been "Tide Research"). But there was no internet in those days, and I was never able to find it.

The music is so hauntingly sweet. It reminds me of Douglas Gamley's music that was used in a lot of Amicus Films (British horror film production company) in the 60s, 70s, and early 80s.
